Our latest travels

Apologies for the absence of blog posts!  We have been very busy with our travel schedule. Below are brief descriptions of our latest trips, and links to the Picasa albums.

We went on a daytrip to Kilkenny, our first Intercity train ride.  Isaac was so excited, and the only thing he asked in Kilkenny was “When do we get back on the train?”  We had enough time to tour the castle, the cathedral, and have fabulous pub-grub. :)

Brad’s parents have been here since June 28, so that we could attend Remi and Jessica’s wedding in Paris!  Brad, Patrick, and I spent a long weekend in Paris.  We stayed in Enghien-les-Bains, a suburb of Paris (near the wedding and reception venues), and went into town during the day to take in the sights.  We had a wonderful time, and I already want to return.  I think I can get used to the fact that Paris is only a 90 minute train plane ride away!

We were invited to the 4th of July party at the US Ambassador’s residence.  It was a great party, and the Irish weather cooperated, at least for a day.  The party had flag football, hot dogs and hamburgers, and a huge kid zone with bounce houses and other kid activities.  The best part – it was impeccably organized by the Embassy.  Our first 4th of July in Ireland – definitely one to remember!
