One of the nice things about the Christmas break is time to catch up on projects around the house and time to reflect on the past year. For me it’s also time for catching up on pictures and the blog. Now online are albums from Halloween, Thanksgiving, Isaac’s first GAA match, Early December and Christmas.
It’s back to school time. Actually we’re now starting the second full week of
school. Getting back into the routine has the blog posts a little behind schedule.
Liesl returns to her Montessori school in our neighborhood. This year she’ll enjoy three mornings per week at the school, leaving two mornings for longer excursions. Activities so far have included ginger bread cookies (yum) and lots of time on the green and in the garden enjoying the late summer weather.

Isaac also returns to the same school this year. Now in the senior infant class, he says the work is a little bit harder. Judging from wear and tear on the uniform during recess (yard time) playtime is harder too. Perhaps the daily football (soccer) matches with his friends have something to do with that. On the academic side, homework and reading assignments have not yet started in earnest. One of the school books: is Introduction to Cursive. Perhaps this year’s letter to Santa will be written in script.
We celebrated Patrick’s second birthday last weekend with a nice sunny walk, skype time with the family, and very tasty chocolate cake.

Irish daffodils are like Texas bluebonnets — you don’t see many at first, then suddenly they’re everywhere and you know summer is on the way. The rest of the pics from our day are here. Enjoy!
